    PROFILE

    An ARM FMIC upgrade is one of the best modifications for your 135i because not only does it yield an average of 25whp and 27wtq but it does so consistently. "How?" you may ask. When you increase power with a tune  for example, you are increasing boost pressure and ultimately heat in the engine. When the ECU (DME) detects too much heat, it will actually reduce timing and limit the amount of power the engine can produce in order to avoid damage. What an ARM intercooler upgrade does for your 135i is keep the intake air temperature in the ECU's "safe zone", allowing it to maximize all the modifications you have on your car. 

    DYNO PROVEN

    We tested our N54-powered 135i with the following performance upgrades: 

    -ARM 3" Catless Downpipes
    -ARM N54 Charge Pipe w/TiAL bov
    -ARM N54 Dual Cone Intake
    -And of course the ARM 5" Stepped FMIC. 

    In addition, we were using the infamous Burger Motorsports JB4 to turn up the boost and manage the tuning on our beloved N54. The results were impressive: a massive 408.8whp and 480.4wtq!

    LOWER IAT's

    How is that extra power made? The temperature of the charged air going into the engine, or IAT (Intake Air Temperature), is a key metric. This factor is essential because the cooler the temperature of the charged air, the more dense it becomes, and the increased density equals more power with the proper tuning. The higher the IAT is, the less power the car will make.

    In an independent test, the OEM intercooler reached a very high, power-robbing temperature of 151 degrees Fahrenheit. The same car equipped with the ARM 5" Stepped intercooler was able to keep its power up with a very cool 106 degrees Fahrenheit. That's an impressive 45 degrees cooler than the OEM intercooler!

    The ARM Motorsports 135i FMIC increases cooling efficiency and power on your N54 or N55 equipped 135i by using a 5" stepped core which maximizes intercooler size to almost 47% BIGGER than OEM.  This is achieved without the need for irreversible cutting or trimming to your bumper. It retains all the OEM crash bars and bumper pads as well.

    The ARM 5" intercooler is constructed of a bar and plate design and will allow for consistent performance. It reduces heat-soak and minimizes the chance of your engine reducing boost and timing due to high IAT's. 

    FIRST OF ITS KIND

    The ARM 5” FMIC is the first ever intercooler upgrade for the E82 135i engineered with CAD-designed CNC aluminum connectors for you to utilize either the OEM intercooler hoses or the  ARM FMIC Hose Upgrade. Opting to utilize the OEM connectors will make for a faster installation. While upgrading your 135i to the massive ARM 3" intercooler hoses, you will be giving your 135i maximum airflow by removing any restriction the OEM connections may have on the charged air.

      Great fitment, quality, and performance from arm Motorsports! Would buy from them again and recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade there car!

      Easy to install

      Install was easy enough. Fitment was almost prefect except you have to take out a piece of plastic on the left side of the intercooler. But other than than, you literally fasten it to two studs and connect the two hoses. Re-use the old O-rings instead of the one provided in the hardware kit, the new ones fit looser on the hoses than the old one you and will cause pinching. Haven’t gotten a chance to test it out/datalog due to screwing up an MHD flash lol.

      ARM’s 5” FMIC

      The quality of the intercooler is great the fit mint was perfect it went on with no problem at all. The only thing I wish is between getting those and the down pipes it that I would have gotten a couple arm stickers haha but that’s it. Great products and would and will use them again.

      Arm gold FMIC, Stencil, & Charge Pipe

      Love my charge pipe and FMIC. Very well made and so far working as they should. Super super fast shipping! Wow. The only thing I would say I wish that ARM did was for the charge pipe install, added 2-3 feet of vacuum line that goes from manifold to bov as the factory one doesn’t reach properly and if you don’t research before hand, you’ll have to stop your install to go buy one if you don’t already have some laying around. Other than that. Everything was perfect! Will order from them again

      Great but tight fitment

      Had to FIGHT with my 5” fmic to get it installed but it fit eventually. Works great.
