The ARM N55 Intake is a complete induction solution for the N55 found in the E9X chassis! From the turbo to the air filter the entire system has be redesigned to improve airflow and turbo spool, resulting in more power and better throttle response for your N55 powered BMW. The ARM N55 Intake shortens the induction pathway from the OEM setup by 68%. By moving the air filter to behind the headlight area, the path of airflow from the high-flow performance filter to the turbo is greatly improved.
To make this happen we completely redesigned the N55 turbo inlet. The ARM N55 Inlet inserts into the OEM turbo with factory-like precision. It then rapidly expands to 3" and this size is maintained throughout the rest of the intake all the way to the high-flow air filter. While the OEM N55 inlet reduces to 46mm before the turbo inlet, the ARM N55 Inlet measures in at 75mm, a 63% increase over OEM.
The ARM N55 Intake utilizes the largest possible air filter for the location behind the passenger side headlight. This air filter measures a full 124 cubic inches of filter surface area, in an oval design to allow it to fit in-between the headlight housing and coolant expansion tank.
At the center of the ARM N55 Intake is the primary intake runner pipe which has several important design features. Firstly, it is where the MAF sensor is relocated, utilizing a CNC machined MAF flange which provides a secure seal between the two components. Secondly, the ARM N55 Intake includes a PCV port on the intake tube to reconnect the PCV line. This allows for proper function of the OEM PCV system. Lastly, the ARM N55 Intake is designed with an open-ended bracket to keep the filter stable and secure during aggressive driving.
In order to relocate the filter to the front of the headlight we have included a MAF extension harness so there is no cutting or splicing of wires. This harness simply clips into the original harness near the back of the engine and extends all the way to the new position for the MAF sensor on the precision machined ARM N55 MAF housing on the intake pipe.

Saw this after just going with another aftermarket option. Figured for the great price and the amount of intake its reducing, I had to try it out. Patience is key with the installation but once in place its a breeze. Overall sounds great and worth it in my opinion.
