S55 DP Installation

Congratulations on receiving your ARM S55 Downpipes! You will now have the envy of the other F8X owners from the absolutely awe inspiring sound your S55 makes!

Tools Needed

-8, 10, 13, 16mm Sockets

-Swivel Adapter

-Ratcheting Wrench

 

Step 1

Under the vehicle: remove the steel plate with an 8mm and 16mm socket.

Step 2

Find the connections for the post cat O2 sensors where the engine and transmission meet. Then disconnect them by depressing the locking tab.

Step 3

Use some masking tape to label which is for the front or rear downpipe. Then pull the harness out of the retaining clips.

Step 4

Remove the 12mm downpipe nuts from the connection to the midpipe.

Step 5

Remove the 2xT30 bolts on the downpipe flange.

Step 6

Remove the gaskets from the flanges.

Step 7

Remove the pre and post catalyst O2 Sensors.

Step 8

With a 13mm socket and a swivel joint, remove the bolt from the V-band clamp from the front downpipe, then remove the clamp. 

Step 9

Release the front downpipe from the rear hanger.

Step 10

Pull the front downpipe down and back to remove from the vehicle.

Step 11

With a 13mm socket and a swivel joint, remove the bolt from the V-band clamp from the rear downpipe, then remove the clamp.

Step 12

Pull the rear downpipe down and back to remove from the vehicle.

Step 13

Check to make sure the gasket inside each turbo housing does not shows signs of wear, damage, or leaks. Replace if needed, the part number is 11627576991.

Step 14 

Transfer the post-catalyst O2 sensors from the stock downpipes to the ARM Downpipes. Leave out the upstream O2 sensor, as they will be installed in a later step.

Step 15

Place the front downpipe into position first, then the rear downpipe.

Step 16

Loosely install the V-band clamps onto the downpipes.

Step 17

Install the pre-catalyst O2 sensors onto the ARM downpipes.

Step 18

Reconnect the downstream O2 sensors harnesses.

Step 19

Slip the flange assembly onto the ARM downpipes.

Step 20

Twist the downpipes to correct fitment, then torque the bolts down to 14 Ft-lbs

Then torque the V-bands to 10 Ft-lbs.

Step 21

Reconnect the upstream O2 sensor harnesses.
