At ARM Motorsports, we’re always keen to find out what a factory vehicle really produces before any upgrades, so we strapped our Audi RS6 onto the dyno to see what it delivers straight out of the gate. Here’s a breakdown of the test, results, and what we’ll be doing next.

RS6 Dyno Testing Stock

Engine & Factory Claims

The RS6 is powered by Audi’s 4.0 L twin-turbocharged V8, code named the EA825, is rated at 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque at the crank. With the car’s Quattro AWD drivetrain, we typically expect around a 15 % drivetrain loss, which would translate to roughly 502 whp and 501 wtq at the wheels.

As always, the real question is — what does it actually put down?

Dyno Setup & Testing Conditions

  • Dyno type: Mustang AWD Chassis Dynamometer

  • Ambient temperature: 77°F

  • Humidity: 47%

  • Barometric pressure: 30.1   inHg

  • Fuel: 93 octane pump gas

  • Vehicle condition: 100 % stock, factory airbox and exhaust, OEM tires, full tank of fuel

Each run was performed after the vehicle reached full operating temperature, except the first, which was done below operating temperature to measure the difference in performance as the engine was completely warmed up.

Dyno Results

We performed three total dyno runs to establish a reliable baseline and evaluate the effect of operating temperature on output.

Run Wheel Horsepower (WHP) Wheel Torque (WTQ) Notes
1 502 whp 516 wtq Cold engine — not at full operating temperature
2 549 whp 565 wtq Fully warmed up
3 552 whp 571 wtq Fully warmed up — best overall pull

Peak torque came on early around 3,100 rpm range and held steady before tapering off toward 4,800 rpm. Horsepower built linearly and peaked just around 5,500 rpm before tapering out near 6,600 rpm.

RS6 Stock Dyno Testing

On average, the RS6 produced 550 whp and 568 wtq, which is notably strong for a stock vehicle of this size and weight. Based on these numbers, our test car is putting down roughly 640+ hp and 660+ lb-ft at the crank, suggesting Audi’s factory ratings may be conservative.

What’s Next?

Now that we’ve established a solid factory baseline, our next phase of testing will focus on performance upgrades including:

We’ll measure the delta in both horsepower and torque against this baseline to show exactly how much power each modification adds.

Stay tuned for our Stage 1 and Stage 2 development series will follow soon with full dyno graphs, acceleration data, and in-depth analysis.

If you’re considering upgrades for your RS6 or looking to discuss tuning options, reach out to our team, we’re here to help you get the most from your C8 RS6/RS7!
