Take your MK7 Golf R to the next level of tuning with the all-new ARM MK7 Golf R Catted Downpipe. Upgrading the downpipe on your MK7 Golf R is essential if you're looking to get the most power out of your Gen 3 E888 engine. The OEM Golf R downpipe is restrictive, preventing you from running any more than a basic Stage 1 tune safely. The ARM MK7 Golf R Downpipe relieves your turbo of excessive backpressure, allowing you to increase the boost by flashing to Stage 2 maps and beyond. The result is faster turbo spool, increased power and torque, and an improved exhaust note.
Constructed of TIG welded T304 grade stainless steel, the ARM MK7 Golf R Downpipe is designed to fit perfectly, and last the lifetime of your MK7R. The ARM MK7 Golf R Catted Downpipe is comprised of 3 sections: an upper section, midpipe section, and adapter. Each section of the ARM MK7 Golf R Downpipe is joined by precision machined v-band connections. These v-band connections allow for a secure and leak-free joint between all sections of the ARM MK7 Golf R Downpipe.
The laser-cut mounting bracket and CNC machined mounting prongs make for a precise fitment to your stock downpipe mounting points.
The ARM MK7 Golf R Catted Downpipe kit comes with a reducer to connect to any exhaust system that fits the stock slip joint. It also comes with a straight 3" section to connect to catback systems that support a 3" transition between the downpipe and catback section.
The ARM MK7 Golf R Catted Downpipe incorporates a stainless steel flex section between the turbo and mid-pipe mounting point. The addition of this flex section reduces tension on turbocharger caused from torsion during hard acceleration, cornering, and braking.
This catted version of the ARM MK7 Golf R Downpipe incorporates a 200 Cell High-Flow Catalyst to reduce exhaust fumes and chance of getting a check engine light (CEL). This does not guarantee you will not get a CEL. The catalyst in located in the OEM position, therefore it does not require any extra O2 sensor extension wires, and properly warms up compared to downstream catalyst placement.

I have to be honest as I’ve been sitting on this for about 8 months now after my first attempt to install on my 2017 Audi TTS unitronics stage2 tuned car. My first attempt went horribly. The stock Audi down pipe is one piece from turbo to back muffler section and was impossible for me to rotate enough to get it out. It must be noted I was using an Ezlift garage lift. I’ve been running the car stage 2 unitronics with stock down pipe with no issues or codes as an fyi to anyone interested. Fast forward to this week and I had some time off work and decided to retry. After my first attempt I had learned how to get to all of Audi’s hidden little bolts, so undoing the down pipe was not an issue. I found removing the O2 sensor from the top of engine bay before trying to remove oem down pipe was a huge plus as it gave me one less obstacle to try and get around while rotating it out. I also loosened the 4 Maine bolts holding the subframe to give me that extra 1-2 inches to get the oem unit out. I also found that unlike most dyi golf r instructions I had to rotate down pipe clockwise and NOT counter clockwise to remove. All in all, that removal process was about 3 hours of labor including getting car on lift and finding all my tools…lol Installation of ARM down pipe was smooth as silk. Fitment was spot on! And damn is this well made! BUT one big issue is that it’s made for golf r and not Audi TTS! Audi is a shorter car then golf r and thus the last section of pipe is too long. Unfortunately the adapter pipe (3”-2 1/2”) is too long on the 3 inch section and can’t be easily cut to match up to stock catback exhaust. So what I had to do was get the pipe cut at v clamp flange and take out several inches of the 3” section and get re-welded for it to be exactly 6” inches long. If Arm motorsports is reading this either change the rear adapter to be more 2 1/2” and less 3” so it could be cut easily to accommodate Audi of have a separate adapter available as an option. Well after a 3 day wait to get my new adapter back I was able to finish instillation. Instillation only took 30 minutes to get it all buttoned up, double check all fasteners and inspect for any exhaust leaks. Damn this sounds awesome! With my unitronics overrun maps the gurgle and pops are insane! Glad I went catted as without cats it probably would be to loud for my 4am work commute. Big thumbs up to ARM motorsports as this is a quality piece! I hope that if an Audi guys are considering that my comments are helpful.
Ryan was such an awesome help with getting me sorted on getting a new downpipe, it even came in less than a week! absolutely awesome service and I can not thank you enough for your help Ryan!
Amazing quality and fitment
After having my downpipe delayed from another manufacturer by almost two months after promising it being available I contacted ARM and they got it out to me in a few days and it's great fittiment and quality!
