The ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust is engineered to dramatically enhance sound on your MK8 Golf R while preserving OEM valve functionality. The ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust utilizes a dual-valved system which retains the factory electronic exhaust valves through specially designed, precision-machined OEM valve controller brackets, allowing seamless integration with the vehicle’s drive modes and factory valve logic. With valves closed, the ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust remains refined and subtle for daily driving. With valves open, the exhaust delivers an aggressive, performance focused exhaust note.

Sound control on the ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust is achieved through a carefully engineered resonated 3" midpipe and a valved muffler assembly. The resonator is designed to reduce harsh frequencies and minimize drone, while the muffler and valve layout allow you to open up your MK8R to unleash the sounds of your EA888 Gen 4!

CONSTRUCTION

The ARM MK8 Golf R Catback is constructed entirely from T304 stainless steel using CNC mandrel-bent tubing with a consistent wall thickness for strength and durability.  The ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust features a straight through resonated 3.0" exhaust path from the downpipe into the muffler assembly, maximizing exhaust flow and reducing restriction compared to the factory system. After the muffler, the system transitions into quad tailpipes for balanced flow distribution and a clean rear-exit appearance using rolled, 101mm quad exhaust tips.

The muffler used in the ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust is engineered to deliver a wide sound range while maintaining efficient exhaust flow. Its internal construction balances acoustic control and flow efficiency.  Inside the muffler housing, the system utilizes a straight-through, perforated core design.Exhaust gases pass through perforated stainless steel tubing rather than being forced through chambers or baffles, allowing for minimal restriction and consistent exhaust flow. This straight-through architecture ensures that performance is not sacrificed for sound control.

The ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust muffler is chambered and insulated with fiberglass to create deep aggressive tone with the valves open, and a tame stock-like tone with the valves closed.  This design was selected for its durability under sustained heat cycles and resistance to breakdown over time. This packing material absorbs unwanted high-frequency exhaust noise while preserving the deeper, lower-frequency tones that give the MK8 Golf R a more aggressive and refined exhaust note.

The ARM MK8 Golf R Exhaust comes with an OEM exhaust adapter to allow you to fit the ARM MK8 Exhaust to the OEM downpipe, or any downpipe that fits with the OEM exhaust system.  For a full turbo-back system, add the ARM MK8 Golf R Downpipe which will connect directly to the ARM MK8 Exhaust without the need for an adapter.
